COOKIE POLICY

This website does not use marketing or analytics cookies.

On the marketing site zero-trust.be, we only set limited preference cookies and do not set marketing or analytics cookies. Because of that, no consent banner is needed on this site for marketing or analytics purposes.

General
This cookie policy applies to the public website zero-trust.be. This is a static site used to present Zero Trust, our services, and the development of ION. It does not use marketing cookies, analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking cookies.

What we currently set
At present, the marketing site itself does not set cookies for audience measurement, advertising tracking, remarketing, social media profiling, or behavioural analysis. We also do not use advertising network scripts or third-party analytics tools that place cookies on your device.

Strictly necessary cookies
The site currently uses two first-party preference cookies:
- zt_lang stores the country-language prefix you selected, so internal navigation can keep the same language/country context. It is stored for up to 12 months.
- zt_geo_prompt stores whether you accepted or dismissed the country/language prompt, so the prompt does not keep appearing. It is stored for up to 12 months.

These cookies are not used for analytics, advertising, remarketing, social media profiling, or behavioural tracking.

Local storage
At present, the marketing site does not use local storage or similar browser storage for analytics, marketing, or profiling.

External requests are not the same as cookies
When you visit this site, your browser may still connect to certain external services without that meaning cookies are being placed by the marketing site itself.

When the site loads, a request may be sent to rsms.me to fetch the CSS for the Inter font. On the /scan page, same-origin requests are sent to /api/scan/context (server-side GeoIP lookup) and /api/scan/proxy-ipapi (server-side proxy lookup via ipapi.co), and fallback direct requests may be sent to ipapi.co, ipwho.is, and api4.ipify.org and api6.ipify.org when needed. If those fail, the page may also trigger the browser's geolocation permission flow for an optional on-device fallback. The page also requests map tiles from basemaps.cartocdn.com. These network requests are technically different from cookies set by our site, but they may still allow those third parties to see your IP address and certain browser data.

Contact form
The contact form on /contact works through an HTTPS POST request to a small backend that forwards the message to our mailbox through the Microsoft Graph API. No marketing or analytics cookies are used for that form.

Separate site: ION portal
The portal at ion.zero-trust.be is a separate site and is outside the scope of this cookie policy. If you sign in there, that portal may set its own session cookies, for example through Keycloak for authentication and session management. The cookie practices of that portal must therefore be assessed and described separately.

Why there is no cookie banner
Because zero-trust.be currently only sets limited preference cookies and does not set marketing, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies on the marketing site, no consent banner is required at this stage for analytics or marketing cookies. If that changes later, we will update both the site and this policy so that the required information and, where necessary, consent are properly provided.

Browser settings
You can always configure your browser to block cookies or delete existing cookies. If you block the preference cookies used by this site, language/country selection and prompt dismissal may not be remembered.

Changes
If we later add other cookies or technical storage, we will update this policy. The latest version is always available on zero-trust.be.
